It’s really special when you have something made just for you. I had a part in this creative process and part of me went into the towel. You were listening to my thoughts, my ideas for what I wanted. It was very connecting and it created a strong bond with you, the artist.

Why I offer custom orders

Custom orders hold a special place in my heart: when someone else selects the colors or design, they invite me into their homes, their lives. I feel honored to take their ideas and turn them into cloth.

When I know someone is celebrating her special birthday with kitchen towels in her favorite colors or chose the colors based from dishes she inherited, the weaving has added meaning for me too.

Your custom order starts with a conversation

And that’s why I’d love to schedule a tele-tea with you to hear your ideas and answer your questions. It also gives me a chance to ask you questions and tell you more about custom orders, pricing and timelines.

Let’s talk about your custom order.

Email me to schedule a time for tele-tea

Marilyn listened deeply to my request for a commission, soliciting details in the most personal way and showing me how much she truly cared about my vision for my home. Her work brings her love for her art and her commitment to creation of hearth right into my tiny house with warmth and caring.

In her creations, I got more than I could have chosen for myself.

More writing: Shining a light on the ordinary that’s not so ordinary

Although the store is closed, the philosophical heartbeat of Whimsy & Tea – shining a light on the ordinary that’s not so ordinary – is now expressed more fully and a little bit differently in stories and notes at WalksWithAsha.com.
